Capris Summer Temperatures Reach Record Highs

Capri's Summer Temperatures Reach Record Highs

Unprecedented Heatwave Hits Mediterranean Island

Monthly Average Tops Previous Record by 2 Degrees Celsius

The idyllic Italian island of Capri is currently experiencing an unprecedented heatwave, with temperatures soaring well above the average for the month of June. According to local meteorological data, temperatures have reached a staggering 28 degrees Celsius (82.4 degrees Fahrenheit) today, marking a significant increase from the average temperature of 26 degrees Celsius (78.8 degrees Fahrenheit) for this time of year.

This surge in temperatures is not only exceptional for Capri but also for the entire Mediterranean region. Climatologists have attributed the heatwave to a combination of factors, including an influx of warm air from the Sahara Desert and a high-pressure system over Europe that has been trapping heat. As a result, many other Mediterranean destinations, such as Greece, Spain, and Portugal, are also facing unusually high temperatures.
